New Decade of Vaccines 3 Vaccine production, distribution, access, and uptake

چکیده
For human vaccines to be available on a global scale, complex production methods, meticulous quality control, and reliable distribution channels are needed to ensure that the products are potent and eff ective at the point of use. The technologies used to manufacture diff erent types of vaccines can strongly aff ect vaccine cost, ease of industrial scale-up, stability, and, ultimately, worldwide availability. The complexity of manufacturing is compounded by the need for diff erent formulations in diff erent countries and age-groups. Reliable vaccine production in appropriate quantities and at aff ordable prices is the cornerstone of developing global vaccination policies. However, to ensure optimum access and uptake, strong partnerships are needed between private manufacturers, regulatory authorities, and national and international public health services. For vaccines whose supply is insuffi cient to meet demand, prioritisation of target groups can increase the eff ect of these vaccines. In this report, we draw from our experience of vaccine development and focus on infl uenza vaccines as an example to consider production, distribution, access, and other factors that aff ect vaccine uptake and population-level eff ectiveness.

Clone Purification, Characterization and Standardization of LaSota Strain for Developing a Live Vaccine against Newcastle Disease Virus
Newcastle disease (ND) is one of the most serious illnesses of chickens. Live vaccines are widely used to prevent chicken from the disease all over the world. To access the effective and potentiate ND vaccine, a homogenous subpopulation from LaSota strain was selected following cultivation of the virus on primary chicken embryofibroblast (CEF) cells. Pathogenicity indices and molecular characte...
متن کاملImmunogenicity of Concentrated and Purified Inactivated Avian Influenza Vaccine Formulation
Avian influenza (AI) H9N2 is a low pathogenic virus subtype belonging to Orthomyxoviridae family. Given the prevalence of this subtype as an infectious agent in poultry industry, special attention has been always directed toward the development of vaccine production against this infection. The vaccine of this infection is produced by killing the virus and using a mixture of inactivated antigen ...

Foot-and-mouth disease is an important viral disease of cloven-hoofed animals. Inactivated whole particle virus vaccines are still widely used in prophylactic vaccination campaigns. The choice of adjuvant is a very important factor in enhancing immune responses and the efficacy of inactivated vaccines. Montanide ISA 61 VG is a new ready-to-use mineral oil-based adjuvant developed by SEPPIC Inc....
متن کاملTaking stock and looking ahead: Behavioural science lessons for implementing the nonavalent human papillomavirus vaccine
The development and licensing of a nonavalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine has the potential to reduce morbidity and mortality from HPV-related cancers beyond that of first generation HPV vaccines. However, this benefit can only be realised if the offer of vaccination is accepted. Uptake of first generation HPV vaccines is not complete and shows huge global variation. In addition to pract...

Background and Aims: The safe, potent and effective live vaccines against Measles, Mumps and Rubella as important childhood diseases have been available for several decades. Several factors can affect the thermal stability of lyophilized vaccine. Methods: In this study, the effect of residual moisture on thermal stability of 61 batches of MMR vaccine was investigated using an accelerated ...
